Robert Thompson continues hot play as winds gust t 50 mph plus. On a day that saw trees breaking off and demolishing the clubhouse walkway, Robert Thompson continued his hot play following his 67 first day round with a 68 for a 9-under par 135. With wind gusts up to 50 miles per hour, play was tough, but the Wilderness did give up some rarities. Gary Trivisoono was able to card a 6-under par 66 and move into 2nd place, and Brian Stavely of Winterhaven, FL and sponsored by PCS Enterprises, aced the par-3 209 yard 16th hole with a 4-iron. This was the first hole-in-one in UGGOA history. Trailing right behind is UGGOA Champion John Ross, former PGA Tour players Steve Thomas and Jeb Stuart and Big Break star Albert Crews. With thunderstorms expected in Lake Jackson, there are sure to be fireworks for round three. | |
