Seven Deep For Steve.......

Steve Jurgensen opened the LASCO Plantation Championship with a blazing 7-under par 65 in the best weather conditions the UGGOA has seen in weeks. Mild temeratures and light breezes opened the door for low scores as 21 of the 44 man field shot even par or better.

The 6800 yard Sienna Plantation Golf Course welcomed the players with hard, fast fairways and plenty of scoring opportunities. John Snyder's 66 and and a pair of 67's from Chris Tucker and Ron Schroeder rounded out the top 4.

Dave Rummels should also be recognized as he almost holed out with his driver on the short, but tight and difficult 16th Hole. His ball ran just a foot past the hole after lipping out on its way by.

Day two should provide more of the same as the mild temperatures and fast track will again make their appearance.
