Clark and Conser Conquer Course

Round 1 of the DSL Longbow Open welcomed the field with 108 Degree temperatures. Mesa, AZ was a furnace for the competitors, but it fed the competitive fires of a few.

Joe Clark Jr. and Barry Conser set the early pace with a pair of 5-under par 66's. Crisp ball striking and steady nerves with the flatstick were necessary as the greens have peaked out  at about 13 on the stimp meter. "These are the best greens we have played all year," stated tour veteran Tim Matthews. "I can't find a thing to complain about this week," chimed in Ronnie Black.

The Longbow Open sports one of the strongest fields the UGGOA has had yet and with the likes of John Jacobs, Dave Rummells, Jeff Hart and Robin Freeman, the leaders have their work cut out for them. Round 2 commences at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Go to www.uggoa.com
